| Before attempting to install any of the
raised or flat inserts, you must perform the following
steps to ensure a successful installation:
Clean surface with a mild detergent or
dishwashing fluid until you completely remove all grime and oily residues
left behind from Armoral or similar products. Clean it regardless of weather
you used Armoral, similar products or not.
Failure to do so will result on insert poor adhesion which will follow.
We advise you to
install a piece of scotch tape on the surface to test how clean your dash
really is. If scotch tape doesn't stick well to your dash surface than that
means that further cleaning is necessary. Repeat cleaning procedure until
you get a desired result.
Only then you should attempt to install the insert, as you don't want to
ruin the adhesive
on your insert.
Tools you will need:
Rubber gloves

Safe install between 60°
to 80° with 40% to 50% or less humidity is needed for proper adhesion.
Failure to follow this chart will cause adhesive agent of insert to not
stick as it should. |
DO NOT allow
your finger prints to touch the adhesive side of the sills. use a rubber
glove for this application.
-
Clean area to be applied
and make sure there isn't any oil or grime left behind.
-
If Amoral has been
previously applied to surface area, further cleaning with detergent will
be needed.
-
Just align the insert
over the grooves on your corvette's Door Sill plate and apply it over.
Failure to properly clean
the area prior to application may result in poor adhesion of insert.
Allow 3 - 5 days for insert to
bond to surface applied
Humidity is no more than water particles in the
air, and when the air is saturated with water at
a high percentage it will affect not only the effectiveness if the adhesive
agent of inserts just as of any other adhesive in general. Not only that but
our vehicles run hotter and so does aircraft and even us humans get affected by
this natural phenomenon. Therefore in Summer weather mostly this will be a
factor in most states in the US.
As humidity can be a factor on a successful installation we must advise you
of its effect on any insert installation.
You should only install any insert when the weather
is cool and almost no humidity, open your vehicle windows and allow it some
time to ventilate throughtout it. Dry or nearly dry weather would be
the perfect climate.
If current weather in your area is carrying high humidity, it would be
suggested to wait a few days until humidity percentage lowers to the table
on above page.
Heat itself should not be a factor on a successful installation. Humidity is
