It is very important for you to
follow this installation instruction.
Adhesive failure may occur should this instruction be ignored. |
TOOLS YOU'LL NEED:
- 1 PAIR OF TWEEZERS
- 1 PAIR OF LATEX GLOVES
If you don't have these, stop here and go to your local "Auto
Parts" store and get them.
You'll be glad you did.
- Armoral is the #1 enemy of adhesive
adhesion. Keep that in mind!
- First dilute several drops of
liquid dish washing into a mug, add little water.
- Once diluted use a tooth brush to
scrub the indentation, scrub it well 'til it leathers.
- Rinse indentation with water, rinse
'til all soap is completely removed.
keep towel underneath to catch dripping water if any.
- Repeat process a second time. Yes a
second time.
- Now wait couple hours for surface
to dry.
- Wearing a pair of latex gloves,
detach the Airbridge insert and hold it either with the tweezers or by
your index and thumb fingers (assuming you're wearing the latex
gloves), hold it by the edge and position it over the "Airbridge".
- Once you have it well aligned over
the Airbridge, let it make contact with surface.
- Now you can lightly press on it to
make full contact.
- We highly suggest you to perform
the "Recomendation" below before installing this insert.
The Airbridge itself it is made of a
pretty slipery plastic which doesn't allow much for adhesion. Therefore
for better adhesion we suggest you to do the following.
- Use a fine grit sand paper to send
surface of Airbridge to produce a coarser surface in which the
"insert's" adhesive will have better bond to it.
- Very little sanding is necessary,
you'll see the change from shine surface to semi-dull surface.
- That's when you know the surface is
ready for application.
- Airbridge insert may come loose or
lost without any sanding.
- Prior to installation you must use
a pair of latex gloves.
- Do Not allow your finger prints to
touch adhesive side of insert.
- Finger prints are saturated with
oils and will transfer over adhesive should your fingers make contact
with it, thus compromising adhesive's agent.

CONDITIONS at the bottom.

Safe install between 60°
to 80° with 40% to 50% or less humidity is needed for proper adhesion.
Failure to follow this chart will cause adhesive agent of insert to not
stick as it should. |
Humidity is no more than water particles in the
air, and when the air is saturated with water at
a high percentage it will affect not only the effectiveness if the adhesive
agent of inserts just as of any other adhesive in general. Not only that but
our vehicles run hotter and so does aircraft and even us humans get affected by
this natural phenomenon. Therefore in Summer weather mostly this will be a
factor in most states in the US.
As humidity can be a factor on a successful installation we must advise you
of its effect on any insert installation.
You should only install any insert when the weather
is cool and almost no humidity, open your vehicle windows and allow it some
time to ventilate throughtout it. Dry or nearly dry weather would be
the perfect climate.
If current weather in your area is carrying high humidity, it would be
suggested to wait a few days until humidity percentage lowers to the table
on above page.
Heat itself should not be a factor on a successful installation. Humidity is
